Located near the south-eastern corner of Italy's Emilia-Romagna region,
Casa Eleonora claims a hilltop position amid the rolling green
landscape bordering the Foresti Casentinesi - a national park extending
southward into Tuscany. Casa Eleonora is a classical country
house overlooking the village of Tredozio (2.5 km). Tredozio is
wonderfully quiet, yet harbors a number of inviting restaurants,
particularly the Mulino di San Michele (which was once an old
mill). A ten-minute drive takes guests from Casa Eleonora to the
village center, which contains the conveniences of grocery shops,
bakeries, bars and a bus station. Casa Eleonora is a classical
country house now set up as two separate, fully-equipped apartments
with a swimming pool (10x5 meters, depth 1.20-1.90 meters). With
a total of up to 14 beds, this is an ideal property for a large group
to share.
The villas of

Alta are very near Casa Eleonora. Renting these properties
together would work well for large groups and special events.

Located on the ground floor this lovely apartment consists of a
comforable living room with a fireplace, and a kitchen/dining room. The
kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, dishwasher, washing machine,
microwave, fridge and freezer. There are also three double bedrooms.
One double bedroom with bathroom and bathtub, and two twin bedrooms
(the beds can not be joined) sharing one bathroom with bathtub. The
twin bedded rooms have access to the beautiful garden. Rental
comes with satellite TV and DVD, stereo with CD player and radio and
land-line phone. Pool towels are provided.

The first floor apartment has a large living room with a fireplace, a
separate dining room and a fully equipped kitchen (oven, dishwasher,
fridge and freezer, microwave). Also there is one double bedroom with
an en suite bathroom with bathtub, one twin bedroom (the beds can not
be joined), one bathroom with bathtub, two mezzanine floors with twin
bedded sleeping areas, a comfortable den and a utility room with a
washing machine. Eleonora Up provides an outdoor pizza oven,
which is excellent for outdoor summer meals.
Rental comes with Satellite TV, DVD player, stereo with CD player and
radio. A cell phone and pool towels are provided.
For larger groups:
Eleonora Up, Down and the Chapel (the entire estate) are available
as

Eleonora 16.
Furthermore, there is an adjoining chapel that has been converted into
a self-contained home for two people. The chapel has been dated back to
1733 due to a carving on the chapel wall. There is a double bed on a
loft and a bathroom with shower. A small kitchen is equipped with
fridge, freezer, washing machine and Satellite TV and VCR, stereo with
CD player and radio. Cell phone and pool towels are provided.
The Area
Benefiting from a long history of prosperity, Emilia-Romagna is imbued
with the spirit of fine living and boasts many exceptional Renaissance
palaces and a particularly rich culinary heritage (lasagna, tortellini,
Parmesan cheese and balsamic vinegar are just a few of many delicious
regional innovations). A number of enjoyable excursions are easily
undertaken from Casa Eleonora. Faenza, with its world-famous
ceramics museum and production house, is about 30 km away, and the
splendid medieval fortress at Brisighella,
the focus of an annual medieval festival, is about 15 km
away. A drive of 50 km toward the Adriatic brings guests to Ravenna,
the location of the world's finest Byzantine mosaics outside of
Istanbul, and from here it's just minutes to the beautiful resort towns
of the coast.
The distinguished city of Bologna, 75 km northwest of Fantini, offers a
delightful urban experience and, remarkably, the Tuscan capital of
Florence is almost as close.
Notes
For stays of one week, two hours of housekeeping are provided on
Monday and Wednesday. For longer stays, an additional two hours
of housekeeping are provided with a change of towels and linens on
Friday. Extra bed linen is available for 10 Euros, and extra
towels for 5 Euros. The gardener checks the pool and the garden
every day.
Telephone is available only in Casa Eleonora 6. A cell phone is
available for each of the other units. Internet access with dialup line
is available only in Casa Eleonora 6.
In 2010 the pool will be open from May 8 to September 25.
A catered dinner is available upon request for an additional charge.
