Just wanted to get back to you and let you know the trip to Positano and Abruzzi was beyond description--utterly sublime! The villa is spectacular, inside and out, and an easy downhill walk to the beach and rental boats and all the touristy parts of Positano. The walk back was much harder but we did it. The pool (completely private) is perfect for a family (41/2 feet deep throughout and big enough to swim laps. The views were incomparable day and night. We were in constant awe of the beauty before our eyes in and outside the villa. Even catching our cleaning staff stealing money, when we just stepped out of our rooms, turned out well. Aristide Fiorentino, the owner's son and manager, came over right away, returned the stolen amount, had it out with the staff, and gave us back our security deposit on the spot as a token of his trust. He then fixed all the room safes that were closed so that we could use them the second half of the week. Aristide would not take the 25 euros for the two days' of groceries he bought for us and took the grocery costs out of the security deposit when we arrived. He had all of the receipts for the food we ordered. The transfers were reliable. Our driver (the same one for all three trips) was hard to figure out, but totally reliable and honest. All I can say was that it was the trip of a lifetime. Our grown children and niece and nephews did homemade Italian meals every night. We cruised the Amalfi coast by small boat, swam in that beautiful acquamarine water and under a cascade and dived off small cliffs. We lived outside except for sleeping and ate fresh food every day. It was important to find my way back to my Italian roots with my family and you were integral in my realizing this dream. You have been the most helpful and gracious travel agent I have ever dealt with and I will send everyone planning a trip to Italy your way. Perhaps we ourselves will enjoy the gift of another trip, too. We will send a couple of pictures of the villa when we sort them through. We took hundreds.
