5+ stars!!!, The location just south of Florence gave easy access to the airport for us to pick up family members, and to visit Florence for the day. Good location for access to all the Chianti region and Sienna. San Pancrazio, San Casciano, Montespertoli, Lucardo, were all close by for groceries, wine, cheese, salumi, or fabulous local restaurants! The villa is fabulous, great for our family of 7 people. Well maintained, beautiful gardens, pool, vineyards, views. The host was extremely helpful and nice!! Great bedrooms, bathrooms, sitting areas... especially the patio overlooking the vineyards and olive groves; we spent most of our time there or around the pool if we were't touring. The pictures of the place on the web are nice, the place is much nicer!! W.J.O. June 2014 We thoroughly enjoyed the villa and our time there. The views are picture perfect and the accommodations very comfortable. I only wish we could have stayed longer. I can't think of anything we were lacking. This was a first trip to Tuscany for our children and they were thrilled and very excited with the villa and it's views. We never attempted the walk to San Pancrazio probably more because of time constraints but truthfully the trek down to the road is gravel and the road to San Pancrazio isn't very wide and cars move at a fairly good clip. While we always appreciate the proximity to a walkable town/village, we weren't inclined to do it. That is not to say it isn't doable. Rafael, who greeted us on our arrival, was just wonderful. I would strongly recommend telling new customers to arrive early, in daylight. The entrance is poorly marked for anyone arriving after dark and the gravel road is narrow with lots of pits. We arrived around 7PM in rain and heavy, heavy fog. Rafael realized how concerned I was for our children (ages 29-30) arriving after us and went to the bottom of the hill to watch and wait for them. Fortunately, the fog had lifted and the rain stopped by the time they arrived and they didn't have any trouble and of course didn't understand my concern. But I was so grateful to Rafael. He also took my husband to a nearby store to pick up a few essentials so he wouldn't have to make the trip back down the road. He then recommended a nearby restaurant for dinner so we could settle into the mood of our vacation. We had a wonderful time and thank you. Best regards, M. E. October 2013 |
