We had an amazing experience staying at Villa Petrea. Susan at Gira! Italian Vacation Rentals was a huge help finding the right place for my large family to stay in Tuscany. We had a last minute cancellation, and she worked around the clock to find the perfect alternative for us. Susan has been to many of the villa’s personally, so she knows the area well and understood our needs and how to meet them. We had a group of 14 people stay here, and even with such a large group we never felt like we were on top of one another. Each bedroom had an en suite bathroom and there was space for us all to relax without feeling crowded. My elderly mother can’t walk stairs well and it was quite difficult to find a villa that had a ground floor bedroom. Villa Petrea was perfect! There were only 2 steps down into her bedroom, and one small step in the house. The kitchen is beautiful and well stocked for a rental. There is even a wood burning bbq in the backyard. The only small complaint we had was the A/C was not great in the bedrooms, and during the August heatwave, it barely did anything to help. But overall the villa was gorgeous, comfortable, and spacious. We enjoyed wonderful day trips to Siena, San Gimignano, Montevarchi, Arezzo and Florence of course! After long days walking in the heat and over cobblestones the hot tub and sauna room were amazing. We enjoyed many a sunset looking out at the view from the hot tub! The owner Jois was an enormous help! He gives great advice for outings and even found us one day when we were lost going into town and led us to the shop we were looking for! He was an excellent host, never intrusive but always there when you needed help or had a question. I would highly recommend this beautiful villa and I hope to return one day myself. M.T. July 2017 |
