The tract of land to the southeast of Siena is characterized by a typical yet unique landscape: the Crete Senesi. The stretch of road that runs from Siena to Montalcino crosses through the heart of the Crete offering views of one of the most beautiful landscapes in Italy. The color of the land changes from season to season with the greys, as well as the yellows which tends towards orange at sunset, creating an almost unreal appearance.
Villa Il Vigneto is located inside a huge 600 hectare farm, on the top of a hill from which it is possible to enjoy stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
This old farmhouse consists of two buildings- the villa and an annex just a few meters away. It has been carefully renovated and features classic furnishings with references to the past, carefully chosen fittings and sophisticated bathrooms. The villa is also very comfortable and functional and is guaranteed to make your holiday truly wonderful.
Outside there is a large furnished loggia for eating “al fresco” with a barbecue and a fully working wood-burning oven. There is also a large swimming pool which is exposed to the sun all day long, with sunbeds and deckchairs. All around are beautiful views of the countryside.
All the bedrooms have air conditioning. There are two fully equipped kitchens with refrigerators and dishwashers. The villa also has: Wi-Fi internet connection, satellite TV, CD and DVD players.
On the ground floor, where the stables used to be located, there is a spa with a large whirlpool bathtub and a sauna. Opposite there is a snooker room.
The small town of Buonconvento is around 5 Km away. Pienza, which offers a rare example of Renaissance town planning and is famous for its cheeses, the cultivation of sunflowers, the fields of wheat and the vineyards producing excellent wines such as Brunello di Montalcino, is 27 Km away. Montalcino, famous for the production of Brunello is 12 Km away, Siena (30 Km) and Florence (90 Km).
Everywhere it is possible to enjoy the flavors of the region`s traditional foods and wines thanks to the simple, tasty local cuisine that remains faithful to its roots.
