recognized by UNESCO, which has 21 chapels depicting the life of Saint Francis
of Assisi.
At Bella Orta there are four bedrooms with ensuite
baths, spacious living areas, a library, a modern state

The Area
Lake Orta is considered one of the most fascinating lakes in Italy.

modern art pieces have been collected by the Calderara family over the years.

village attracted many artists over the years, including the painter Antonio
Calderara.
His house and modern art collection are today open to visitors in the Fondazione
Calderara, located in the centre of the village.
Calderara Foundation was established in 1979 and it consists of 327
contemporary paintings and sculptures, 56 of which are by Calderara himself. The
remaining 271 works are by 133 different artists from all over the world among them
Sonia Delaunay, Lucio Fontana, Osvaldo Licini, Pietro Manzoni, Josef Albers and Arnaldo Pomodoro.
