Designed in the middle of the 20th century as a holiday retreat for an
important Milanese family, Vista Colico sits on a vast piece of terrain
measuring 30,000 square meters (7.5 acres) in size. The estate is
completely enclosed and slopes down to the lake where there is a small
private beach, whose existence is dependent on the water level. Hardy
walkers can follow a trail down to the lake. This is a par course trail
that winds down through the trees and has various pieces of fitness
equipment clustered along it. It ends with a welcoming hammock at the
lake’s edge where the clean lake water beckons for a swim.

The views, the light and the strong relationship between the house
interior and nature are significant attributes of this Bauhaus style
villa. The Bauhaus school of architecture is one of the most
influential currents in Modernist architecture and design. Its ideas
are featured here and incorporate simplified forms with large glass
panes and panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
The wood paneled ceilings, stone floors, clean lines, pure use of color
and the extension of space around and beyond the interiors attest to
the fact that “Less is More”.
Brilliant views greet you when you enter Vista Colico as the lake can
be seen from every room in the villa. The decor boasts fine pieces of
design furniture that have also been designed for comfort.
