These comfortable apartments are situated in a peaceful and secluded area of the city, in the Castello “sestiere” or quarter, near Via Garibaldi, just a short distance away from the gardens of the Biennale and the Arsenale, the ancient fortified boatyard where the Serenissima’s ships were built. They are less than one minute from the Arsenale vaporetto (or water boat) stop, and just a 10 minute walk away from St. Mark’s Square. The Lido di Venezia, the island on the lagoon which is famous for its beaches and Film Festival, is just a few minutes away by vaporetto. Worth visiting in the Castello “sestiere” is the Church of St. Zachary of Venice, the scene of attacks carried out against various Doges before the year one thousand, which is behind St. Mark’s Square. To the north, the Basilica of St. John and St. Paul hosts the tombs of numerous Doges including Nicolò Marcello, Pietro Mocenigo, and Andrea Vendramin.
Near the apartments are a variety of shops, two supermarkets, stalls that sell fish, fruit and vegetables in the mornings, and typical restaurants with views of the lagoon. Despite their central position, the apartments are very quiet as they are situated on a side street or “calle” of Via Garibaldi, in a typical “courtyard”. Both apartments have recently been renovated, are pleasantly furnished and have two bathrooms.
