St. Mark’s Square is just a few minutes’ walk away as are all the town’s other places of artistic and cultural interest. Many of the most important churches and monuments of Venice can be found in the Castello “sestriere”, the largest quarter in the city, such as, for example, the Basilica of St. Peter of Castello and the Church of St. Zachary. Also worth visiting are the old walls of the Arsenale where the ships of the Serenissima were built, and the gardens of the Biennale.
