The hills around Impruneta, which begin on the outskirts of Florence, for their attractiveness and elegance, can be said to be the gateway to Chianti, and continue in the same way all the way to Siena. Villa la Fonte is a large country residence typical of the old florentine nobility, now partly divided-up, and emerges in all its power from the olive-groves and vineyards that climb up the hills. It has a separate entrance that leads to the terraced garden of the property, until you come to the private 6x11 swimming-pool and then continues towards a cool wood of holm-oaks and cypress trees, completely enclosed and available for use by guests. The furnishings consist of high-quality pieces that blend into the architecture of the villa, and there are several useful accessories available: dishwasher, telephone, washing-machine and dryer; the kitchen is large and well-equipped and has direct access to part of the garden which has been furnished for dining outside. The price includes a cleaning service during the week and you can request a cooking service, to be paid on the premises. The owner is a well-known international pianist and owns a professional piano that can only be offered for use by expert players that can give guarantees for its good use. In the villages nearby there are several typical local restaurants that offer traditional cuisine of high quality accompanied by excellent wines. Firenze is about 10 kms away and Siena 60 kms.
