Surrounded by thousands of years of history, the apartment is situated in the heart of the historic center of this splendid city of art which has achieved legendary status thanks to Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet”. Verona has been declared a UNESCO world heritage site due to its urban structure and architecture. The most famous monument of all, which has become the symbol of the city itself, is the Arena, the third largest Roman amphitheater in Italy after the Coliseum and the amphitheater in Capuano. The best preserved of the three, it is still used today to host the famous opera festival as well as numerous concerts.
Other interesting buildings, situated respectively in Piazza dei Signori and Piazza Erbe, are the Loggia del Consiglio and Palazzo Maffei. The Loggia del Consiglio has marble columns and lots of sculptures and frescoes and is considered to be one of the greatest symbols of the Veronese Renaissance.
Juliet’s house, with the most famous balcony in the world, is one of the main attractions of Verona. Crowds gather to look through the narrow arched main entrance in the internal courtyard to admire and photograph the balcony, and couples of all ages come here to swear eternal fidelity.
