The apartment lies in the little harbour of Pozzillo, and from the terrace you go down straight into the sea, and from the rear of the house you can access in just a couple of steps the rocks that you can swim off.
The village has retained intact all of the characteristics of an old fishing village, and the fishermen still go out regularly in small boats, and in fact in the piazza opposite the harbour you can buy fresh fish from the latest catch.
The apartment has been recently renovated and has simple but comfortable furniture, suitable for its position in the village. It has a small barbecue, an oven in the kitchen and a stereo with CD player, air-conditioning in the livings and bedrooms.
Pozzillo lies along the Riviera dei Limoni (the lemon riviera), a stretch of coast between Acireale and Taormina, with a string of small and attractive villages, one after the other, and of rocks made of lava, and long, sandy beaches.
There are any number of restaurants where you can enjoy the excellent sicilian cuisine.
The apartment is a good starting point for trips round the slopes of Mount Etna, an enchanting landscape, protected by a nature reserve, that is a must for anybody visiting Sicily.
