Sorrento is considered the pearl of this region, and from the beginning of the 19th century was the preferred destination of noble English and russian travelers and of famous landscape painters. Its defining characteristic is its special position on top of an imposing cliff dominating the Gulf of Naples and Vesuvius. Its historic hotels have given hospitality to many important people, stars of the opera, of literature and of the pictorial arts, and we can endow it with pride with the title of inspirational muse. Villa San Francesco lies at the heart of the old town center, and is a `town house` lying in a residential area with various other historic villas. The villa has been recently renovated, furnished with taste with attention to the finest details: from the quality of the materials, to the antique furniture, and not forgetting its modern comforts: air-conditioning in all the rooms, dishwasher, washing-machine, access to an internet line. The villa is surrounded by a private garden equipped with garden furniture. Behind the villa you can see the ancient church famous throughout the world for the wonderful `Chiostro di San Francesco`, revered by art historians and a place that is often chosen for wedding celebrations by couples from all over the world. The garden of the villa is next to the famous `Villa Comunale` - an old public garden with centuries-old trees overlooking the cliffs and offering picture-postcard views. Sorrento is well-served by public transport both by sea and by land which are very convenient for visiting the best-known sights: Capri, Pompeii, Naples, Positano, Amalfi. On foot from the villa you can reach in just a few minutes some of the best restaurants in the town and every conceivable kind of shop, so we don`t really advise you to bring a car, but close by there are public pay car parks.
Accommodation (200 sq meters):
GROUND FLOOR: kitchen, 1 WC with washbasin, large living-room with dining area and access to external area equipped with garden furniture.
FIRST FLOOR: 4 double bedrooms, with 4 ensuite bathrooms (3 with shower, 1 with bath-tub), two of the bedrooms have access to the terrace. Access to the first floor from the ground floor is via the lift or via an external stair.
ANNEX: little annex/studio consisting of 1 double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower.
Other services included in the price: Cleaning during the week 3 hours, 2 times per week for a total of 6 hours per week.
Paid on site in cash: electricity to be paid on the premises for consumption over and above 150 KW per week.
Bed and bath linen: 2 sets of bed and bath linen per week included in the price.
Cots for babies under 2 yrs: Cot with bars available: free of charge.
