Viterbo had its moment of particular splendor during the renaissance, when the Farnese family led a wave of political change that influenced the whole of Italy. In that period many renaissance churches and monuments were built such as the Fontana del Vignola (in Piazza della Rocca), the Papal Palace and the Cathedral, the S.Pellegrino district and the Palazzo dei Priori. And the churches and monuments co-exist in the well-preserved old town centre in perfect harmony, although many were created in different epochs. The apartment looks onto Piazza Verdi, in front of the Theatre with the same name at the beginning of the pedestrian precinct in the old town centre. It has been completely renovated with great attention to detail. The bathrooms of all the bedrooms are of very high quality and the furniture is from the beginning of the 1900s. Staying in Viterbo gives you the chance to investigate the culture and history of the Etruscans, who were the ones who discovered the benefits and healing properties of the thermal springs in the town. You can also enjoy the wonderful lifestyle and try the excellent cuisine of the area, which have survived intact here. You can reach Rome in little more than an hour, both by car or by train, however the second option is a good one as it allows you to avoid the chaotic traffic in the capital city.
