Located in Laveno on the east side of Lake Maggiore, Carina del Lago is
a small, independent cottage for 4 people. It is part of a larger
estate where the beautiful villa
Bellezza
del Lago is located. Carina del Lago was formerly the
guardian’s house and is located at the entrance of the estate about 60
meters from the villa. The location is particularly quiet and
peaceful given the fact that it is located at the end of a dead end
road. It is 15 minutes by foot from Laveno.
Together, the two properties accommodate up to 14 -16 people and
provide a perfect place for a large family or gathering of

Please note that guests renting only Carina del Lago are not allowed
access to the villa swimming pool, private beach or grounds.
Guests have their own private area of the garden (approximately 300
square meters) and a pleasant terrace with views over a section of the
villa gardens and Lake Maggiore.
The public beach is a pebble beach and is approximately 5 minutes away
by foot and less than 250 meters away as the crow flies.
Laveno is a small and relaxed tourist town offering a variety of
services such as grocery stores, bank, pharmacy, post office, shops,
restaurants, and a lakeside promenade. There is a ferry stop in
Laveno and boats go to the western side of the lake (Stresa, Pallanza,
Cannero) and also to the Borromean islands famous for their charming
beauty.
The Laveno Mombello train station in Laveno is about 1.5 km from Carina del Lago. From here trains go to the Milano Cadorna train in the
center of Milano in less than one hour. The fast train from
Malpensa airport goes to the Milano Cadorna train station so it is
possible to fly into Malpensa and take a train to Milan and then the
villa. A handy taxi ride to the house would be necessary with
luggage. Once at the cottage, day trips in the region can be made
by taxi, bus or boat. As a result, Carina del Lago can be well suited
for those who do not wish to rent a car.
Completely restored and refurbished in 2007, Carina del Lago offers a
fresh and new interior that is comfortable and entirely
modernized. The kitchen is fully equipped and the 3 x 5 meter
terrace provides pleasing
views over a part of the gardens and the lake.
The villa also will be stocked with basic groceries so that you do not
have to shop upon arrival or worry about store closures on
Sunday. The shopping list consists of: milk, coffee, tea, bread,
biscuits, sugar, salt, water, fruit, eggs, oil, butter, jam, orange
juice, cereals. The quantity of the items will be adjusted by the staff
according to the number of guests.
The house measures
55 square meters and is laid out as follows:
GROUND FLOOR
Small entrance hall, bathroom equipped with shower, washbasin, toilet
and bidet, one double bedroom, one bedroom with bunk beds (best
suitable for two children), living room with dining area and kitchen
area equipped with gas stove, refrigerator, oven, microwave, and
dishwasher).
The access into the main floor of the house is at street level.
Stairs lead outdoors to the garden area.
Two garages and a closed storage room that is reserved for the owner
are located on the lower level.
All bedrooms have portable fans. Other amenities include bed,
bath and kitchen linens changed twice a week (Wednesday and Saturday),
water, electricity, gas, Internet WIFI connection, maid service (1 hour
house cleaning each Wednesday and 2 hours on Saturdays for rentals
exceeding one week), final cleaning, basic grocery shopping.
Basic grocery shopping - a simple shopping for the first breakfast rather
than an entire grocery stocking. The quantity of the items will
be adjusted by the staff according to the number of guests. The
following items are included: milk, coffee, tea, bread, biscuits,
sugar, salt, water, fruit, eggs, oil, butter, jam, orange juice,
cereals.
Between October 2 and May 1 there is a charge for gas used for heating and hot
water. Gas used for cooking is always included.
Please note: Guests renting Carina del Lago have access only to
a part of the garden, about 300 square meters. Bellezza del Lago is
located on the same property and has a private pool, large park and
private access to the beach. Guests renting Carina del Lago are
not allowed to use these facilities unless the two properties are
rented together by the same group of people.
Of special interest:
Carina del Lago is at 15 minutes' walking distance from the centre of
Laveno. Laveno is a small and relaxed tourist town with most
shopping facilities, many restaurants, a promenade and where many
activities are organized throughout the year. There is a ferry
berth in Laveno to the western side of the lake and to the Borromean
islands. A variety of water sports are possible such as
parasailing and delta flying. Also with walking distance is the
gondola which climbs up the hill against which Laveno is built.

Cycling is popular and there is a riding school in the nearby
village. This location is also idea for excursions to Lugano and
other points in Switzerland.
