Il Castello,
a delightfully restored medieval tower dating back to the 1200s, is located
approximately 20 minutes from Perugia in the village of Mantignana. It offers a
distinctive stay for those seeking a village experience in a characteristic
ambiance. Il Castello is an attractive accommodation not only because of its
village location (accessible by bus), but also because for its surroundings. It
has a pleasant garden and yard area that is completely enclosed and shaded with
a variety of trees and bushes. There are furnished areas here for relaxing and
outdoor dining. Guests will enjoy the outdoor wood-burning oven and barbecue
located in a classic stone courtyard. Il Castello is a unique blend of old world
Italy and modern day conveniences. Furnishings are stylish and comfortable and
the kitchen and bathrooms have been nicely updated. A former convent
also dating back to the 1200s is located a short walk from Il Castello. Guests
of Il Castello are welcome to use the large and panoramic swimming pool (15m x
7.5m) here free of charge as well as the tennis court (fee applied).
A veritable stone tower, Il Castello spans four floors and comfortable sleeps 4
people in three bedrooms. Each floor is connected by a flight of stairs and, for
this reason, the house is not recommended for small children or elderly guests.
The ground floor opens up onto a foyer and consists of a sitting room with a
fireplace, and a bathroom with a shower. The first floor is accessed from the
internal stairs (14 stairs) and has the pleasant dining room, kitchen with oven
and dishwasher, a sitting room and a furnished terrace.
The second floor is also accessed from the internal stairs (13 steps). Here
there is a double bedroom with en suite bathroom and bathtub. This bedroom
includes an air-conditioning unit.
The third floor is accessed by the internal stairs (15 steps). Here there are
two single bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom with shower.
The fourth floor is the top floor and is accessed by the internal stairs (11
steps). Here there is a small panoramic terrace with views over the town of Mantignana and the Umbrian countryside beyond.
Heating is available. Pets are not allowed.
