Casa Marta, an enchanting farmhouse built in 1866, stands on top of a gentle green
hill surrounded by flowing fields of sunflowers and wheat. Lined with cypress
trees, it is a classic portrait of Tuscany.
This villa is wonderful for large family getaways because of its ideal location
and nearby activities. The property boasts of large outdoor spaces, a lush
garden with pool and comfortable interiors that can accommodate 12 people in the
main house. The main house
contains 6 double bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. Casa Marta is near to Pisa, Florence and
the coast, making cultural daytrips easy and entertaining for guests of all
ages.
The cottage at Casa Marta (2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms) is rented separately, and may be added for a total of
15 guests.

Casa Marta consists of an extensive, beautiful garden full of flowers and old
lemon trees, and also a large pool (10x5 meters) with patio and sun chairs.
Stunning white roses, begonias and jasmine cover the main house in the spring
season. A marble table suitable for 15 people sits in the front of the house
and is perfect for al fresco dining. In the garden there is also an authentic
outdoor pizza oven and a BBQ. There are also cats that live in the garden of the house.
The main house (450 sq meters) has been carefully restored and tastefully
furnished by the owner, a young Italian architect, who mixed the traditional
country style with a taste for minimal design. The result is a unique and

The ground floor of the main house consists of a pleasant living room with a
traditional fireplace. The following room is a comfortable study with another
fireplace and a telephone (metered and charged according to usage). On this floor there is a large dining room with a
table for 15 people and a fully equipped kitchen with a gas stove, oven,
dishwasher, fridge and freezer, toaster, kettle, and American coffee machine.
There is a bathroom on this floor with a shower, which can also be used as a
changing room for the swimming pool.
The first floor of the villa consists of 6 double bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
Four of these double rooms are twins and two others are queen bedrooms. There
are also four bathrooms, one with a bathtub and three with showers. Facilities
included in the villa are central heating, TV and DVD player, stereo, telephone,
washing machine, screens on the windows and outdoor parking for several
vehicles.
The nearest village to the property is Lorenzana, which provides guests
with charming restaurants, food shops, bars, a post office and a pharmacy. The
larger town of Collesalvetti is 13 km away and contains a super market and
several banks. Guests at Casa Marta will find a bus stop 800 meters from the
property with connections to Pisa and Livorno.
Nearby activities include tennis courts and horseback riding (all
2 km away). The city of Pisa is 31 km away, Lucca is 64 km away and Florence
is 80 km away. Livorno, one of the most important cities on the sea in Tuscany
is only 22 km away, and from there it is easy to spend the day in Quercianella
or Castiglioncello, two lovely resort towns with beautiful seas, shops and
delicious seafood restaurants. Other fascinating nearby towns are Volterra (55
km), Montescudaio and Guardistallo (30 km). The famed city of Siena is 99 km
away up a beautiful road that winds through the center of the Tuscan
countryside.
The pool is open in 2010 from March 27 to October 23. Pool towels are included.
Internet dialup access is available. Towels and linens are changed once per
week. For stays of more than one week, two hours of maid service on
Saturday are included. On request, maid service, an Italian breakfast, lunch and dinner
are available for an additional fee.
Please note that the main house and the cottage may be rented separately.
