Overlooking Lake Maggiore and the Castle of Angera, Colle Belvedere is
a modern villa offering a comfortable environment and wonderful
views of Lake Maggiore. The villa is located in a residential
area just outside of Lesa and within 4 km of Stresa and Arona.
The villa is surrounded by a beautilfully manicured and fenced garden
which helps to provide full privacy to guests. The road leading
to the villa is in good condition, although it is steep with some
curves. However, once you arrive you will see that the exquisite
view was worth the effort.

Colle Belvedere offers an excellent arrangement for a family or group
of friends. Because the single rooms are considerably smaller than the
master bedroom, this property is not highly recommended for two
couples. It spans two floors with three bedrooms and three en
suite bathrooms.
Ground floor: The entrance leads into a spacious living room with a
fireplace, Satellite TV, and large French doors, which open onto the lovely
panoramic terrace. The terrace is nicely furnished and is ideal
for relaxed summer dining. This level also contains a separate
dining room with a table for eight and a small, well-equipped
kitchen. There is a WC as well.
Upper floor: The master bedroom with a double bed is both large and
colorful, offering a pleasant view of Lake Maggiore, an en suite
bathroom (half tub with shower) and access to the terrace. On this
floor there are also two twin-bedded rooms, each with its own small
private bathroom (each has half tub with shower). The twin beds
are each 80 cm wide and can be joined to form a double bed.
Colle Belvedere has been restored with care, and finished in a pleasant
and comfortable fashion with ornamental detail and fine
upholstery. The walls framing the panoramic windows are brightly
colored and the overall feeling is cheerful. The furnishings are
a blend of contemporary pieces mixed with some antiques. Each
bedroom has direct access to the upper terrace and its own small
private bathroom. Please note that the showers are combined with
the half tubs, for this reason are not highly recommended for elderly
guests. Amenities include a refrigerator, telephone, TV,
dishwasher, washing machine, coffee maker and microwave.
Both terraces enjoy the remarkable views of the lake and a variety of
outdoor seating areas. The owner who speaks both French and English can
assist you by phone in case of emergency. The caretaker lives
very near the property, but does not speak any English.
Please note that the local train passes 250 meters downhill from the
property but is separated by other properties, trees, and shrubbery.

In the surrounding area
there is plenty to see and do. You will not want to miss a tour
of the three Borromean islands. Isola Bella, the largest, is
almost entirely occupied by a villa built by Carlo III Borromeo in
honour of his wife Isabella. Isola dei Pescatori is home to an
ancient fishing village with tiny narrow streets and some excellent
restaurants. The third island is Isola Madre, which boasts another
Borromean palace and noteworthy botanical gardens. Colle
Belvedere is an excellent base for exploring the region.
Beautiful mountains, tiny lakeshore villages, markets, spas, and even
nearby Switzerland are all within close distance from the villa.
The beach is only about 2km from the villa.
Stresa is 4 km north while Arona lies 4 km to the south. It is
possible to reach Milan in about an hour by train and the Malpensa
international airport is not much more than a 50-minute drive.
There are many shops and restaurants in Lesa, which is located about
1500 meters downhill from the villa. It is also possible to order
take-out meals from the nearby Rapanello Restaurant in
Lesa. Lesa has a sport club with 3 tennis courts and an
Olympic-sized pool. There are also 2 golf courses within 10-15
minutes by car and 7 more within 45 minutes. The ferry and the railroad
station are located in Stresa. |
