The villa is a perfect blend of old world charm and modern day living.

 

Lucca Nobile is set on a 32 acre family owned vineyard estate in the peaceful hills surrounding Lucca.  The villa is a superb example of traditional Lucchese architecture and, following this tradition, has three floors and a classical Italian style garden which is 2.5 acres in size.  Located just outside of the property is a small chapel that was, historically, the chapel of the villa and the neighboring borgo.  Mass is celebrated here every Sunday at 9am.  There are also some farmhouses on the large estate behind the villa where the vineyard workers live.  

The private garden is filled with a variety of trees indigenous to the area as well as fragrant plants and roses.  There are several furnished outdoor areas for relaxing and dining al fresco.  Comfortable deck chairs and sun loungers can be found near the swimming pool, which is located in a pleasant panoramic position.  There is also a barbecue for guests' use.

 

The villa is spacious at 500 square meters and develops on three floors.  It comfortably accommodates 14 people in 8 bedrooms--all of which are air conditioned--and 6 bathrooms.  There is also central heat throughout the villa.

It is possible to rent the villa for a group of 10 or less for a reduced rate.  In this case, the two bedrooms and one bathroom on the ground floor will be closed off.

The villa is laid out as follows:

 

Ground floor (sleeps 4 people):
Main entrance way with staircase leading to the first floor.  A second door leads to large and bright living room with access to the lovely garden.  There is also a fully equipped kitchen, frescoed dining room with marble fireplace and access to the garden as well as a TV room with satellite TV.  There are two bedrooms (both with air conditioning) one large double bedroom (160 cm wide bed) with a beautiful beamed ceiling and "Lucchese" tapestry and one twin bedroom (80 cm wide each bed, can be joined as a double) with a modern marble bathroom with tub/handheld shower attachment, shared by both bedrooms.

 

First  floor (sleeps 4 people):
This floor is what the Italians refer to as the "Piano Nobile", the noble floor.  It features a spacious and elegant formal living room with comfortable sofas and satellite TV.  The walls are bright and yellow and decorated with ancestral portraits.  There are also two air conditioned bedrooms (one double and one twin) on the "Piano Nobile".  The double bedroom has a 160 cm wide bed with en suite marble bathroom with shower.  The twin bedded room has two 80 cm beds which can be joined as a double, and a bathroom with tub.   Furthermore, there is a formal dining room with a small balcony and fully equipped kitchen.

 

Second floor (sleeps 6 people)
The top floor consists of four bedrooms, one double (160 cm wide bed), one twin (two 80 cm wide beds, can be joined as a double) and two single bedrooms (each with a 105 cm wide bed) and three bathrooms (one with shower and two with tubs).  Notable features include the timber beamed ceilings and  the typical Tuscan tile floor.  All rooms on this floor are air-conditioned.

 

Each floor offers an independent alarm system, satellite TV, telephone and modern centralized vacuum cleaning system in each room.  Other amenities in the villa include a fireplace, CD/stereo, fax, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine.

In 2010, air conditioning is included in the rental price.

 
The location of Lucca Nobile is ideal for visiting Tuscany hill towns and cities of art as well as the coast and Cinque Terre.  Lucca is 7 km away, Florence 70 km,  Pisa 20 km, the Versilia beaches are 30 km.  The Cinque Terre can be reached in one and a half hours. Tennis facilities are 5 minutes away and a lake for fishing is a 15 minute walk.  There are 18 hole golf courses in both Montecatini and Versilia, each approximately 30 minutes away.

 

There is a restaurant, bar, grocery shop, pharmacy and newspaper shop approximately one kilometer from the villa and, at two kilometers, a large supermarket.

 

A cleaning service is included six days per week.  A typical Italian breakfast consisting of coffee, tea, milk, bread, butter and jam is included Monday through Saturday.

In 2010, the pool will be open from May 1 to September 25.
