With its unique location on a hilltop 700
meters above sea level, this fortified hamlet brings to mind the ancient
splendor of a "gastaldo longobardo".
The estate is entirely enclosed and has
a private forest (40 acres) where wildlife can often be seen.
There is also a small lake with various types of birds and fish (fishing
is permitted).
The main hamlet has been restored into five
dwellings: Il Gastaldo (the largest), La Torre (the old defense tower),
and La Scuderia (the ancient stable). The owners, who are very
friendly, and who will cook a typical Umbrian dinner upon request, live
in the other two apartments.
A hay barn has also been refurbished and offers
two guest accommodations, Il Fienile and La Legnaia. The furniture is
comfortable and rustic with some period pieces. Much respect has
been given to the originality of the buildings. Each has a private
outdoor equipped area (small garden, portico or pergola).
A swimming pool (13m x 6.5m) with sun lounging chairs
looks over the peaceful hills. It is surrounded by a well-kept
garden and a comfortable and tasteful pergola where there is a hammock
for enjoying lazy afternoons. A furnished enclosed portico near the
pool offers a pleasant rustic sitting/dining room with wood-burning
pizza oven, barbecue and stereo system. On request, and to be paid
on site, small groups can rent this room and have exclusive use of it.
Otherwise it is open to all guests. There is also a
communal washing machine (fee paid on site).

Located in the wonderfully restored fortified tower, this
apartment is on three floors connected by a steep wooded staircase (not
suitable for small children or elderly guests).
Ground floor: Furnished terrace; living/dining room with kitchen area
and fireplace.
First floor: One double bedroom with connecting bathroom and
shower.
Second floor: Bedroom with two single beds.
Third floor: Panoramic terrace.
