The property was purchased in 1511 by Niccolò Machiavelli, whose descendants, the marquis Ragioni Machiavelli personally tended to the recent restoration of the complex. The house which enjoys a stupendous view, is bright and cosy, furnished with period pieces and ancient kilim rugs and is equipped with all the modern conveniences. The outdoor areas and the swimming pool area are well-kept to and equipped. The position of the house offers the possibility to organise easy daily excursions both to Florence and to Siena, thanks to the expressway which connects the two cities and which can be reached in just a few minutes. In fact, the expressway passes through the valley below about 2 km away.
