Set in the lively lake resort town of Toscolano Maderno, this spacious
and elegant apartment is a perfect example of the fascinating 18th
century Venetian architecture. Palazzo sul Garda is a beautiful,
luxurious rental located on the
Piano Nobile (first floor) of a three story building. Outside,
the lovely shared gardens offer charming areas for relaxing in the
shade or sunbathing by the lake. Palazzo sul Garda has an
exquisite view overlooking the little “Porticciolo” (small harbor) and
Lake Garda. It is furnished with classical antiques and all the rooms
are decorated with large frescos. Palazzo sul Garda is a
perfect place for guests who are looking for a truly authentic Italian
experience in a unique atmosphere. It sleeps up to 7 people in 3 double
bedrooms and 1 single bedroom, all sharing 2 bathrooms.
The maid lives near the property and provides cleaning services for the
apartment five days a week. An Australian friend of the owner will meet
the guests at their arrival.
In the same building as the rental there are also the house of the
owner (second floor) and
2 other units (ground floor), which are available for rent. For this
reason the garden (800 sqm) is shared with other people. The main
part of the garden and the furnished marble column patio are
exclusively reserved for the guests of Palazzo sul Garda. A table
for eight and four lounge chairs are provided with the rental.
Other guests will use the garden only as a way to access the
lake. The main central hallway opens onto the lovely
gardens. Parking for 2 cars is available in the hallway. It is
also suggested that guests use the very convenient public parking lots
in front of the building.

Legnaia
sul Garda, a separate cottage adjacent to the apartment, for groups
of up to 11 guests.
This antique property is located
just at few kilometers from the historical center of Toscolano Maderno,
one of the most popular holiday resort towns on Lake Garda. With its
clear, clean, and warm water, sunny beaches, mild climate and
Mediterranean vegetation, Lake Garda is like a small sea set between
the last spurs of the Alps and the Lombardy plain.
Garda has been a favored spot since
ancient Roman times (some Roman ruins still remain in the area) and has
been lauded by poets and writers through the ages, including Catullus,
Goethe, Joyce and D'Annunzio. Lake Garda is a marvelous
combination of history, natural beauty and modern indulgences.
There are many interesting and
stunning little towns situated along the coast or in the hills such as
Salò (8 km), Gardone Riviera (4 km), and beautiful Sirmione (37 km) -
all of which are rich in history, culture, good restaurants and shops.
From the house it is possible to walk to the village (500 m) where
bars, Tabacchi shops, and the delicious Trattoria San Carlo are
located. A larger shopping center with a pharmacy, grocery store, post
office and bank is less than 1 km away. The nearest train station is in
Desenzano del Garda (27 Km).
Palazzo sul Garda benefits from a
quiet location. The road leading to the house is used only by other
people living in the area or people going to the Porticciolo - a little
public harbor next to the house. During the summer season the
harbor may be busy with people since it is a small, yet popular harbor.
A splendid
pietra serena staircase (36 steps) gives access to the first floor
– Piano Nobile - where Palazzo sul Garda is located. The whole floor
measures 700 sqm and it is completely decorated with frescoes dating
back to the 1798, and has antique cotto floors.
Palazzo sul Garda consists of a spacious, bright and frescoed living
room overlooking the lake, the Porticciolo and the garden. A
small sitting room features a TV, CD player and access to the balcony
overlooking the garden. A large frescoed dining room comes with a
dining table suitable for eight. The kitchen is equipped with a
gas range stove, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, oven, toaster,
and juice maker. There is one large and frescoed twin bedroom
with an en suite bathroom with shower. Two double bedrooms share
a bathroom with shower. There is an additional single
bedroom. All beds and mattresses were purchased new in 2006.
An extra bed is not available. A baby bed is available upon
request. A telephone is available, and dialup Internet access can
be done.
For one week rentals, the price includes maid service three hours
per day, Monday through Friday. For longer rentals, the service
is provided Monday through Saturday, with a change of linens and towels
on Saturday.
Pets are not permitted at Palazzo sul Garda.

From windsurfing to sailing, from golf to rock-climbing, from bungee
jumping to trekking: on Lake Garda you can find facilities for almost
any sort of sport and activity you can think of. Activities on
the lake are perfect for people of all skill levels and
guides/instructors can be contacted in town. Lake Garda boasts of
un-crowded beaches, sports facilities of all types (including swimming
pools and tennis courts) and clear and clean water. Other sports
that are possible in the area include mountain biking, cycling, hiking
excursions, rock-climbing, trekking, horseback riding, and
pony-trekking. There are gorgeous golf courses within easy
driving distance, as well as several amusement parks perfect for
children.
