This charming and elegant independent villa is located in the lakeshore
village of Crabbia, and is three kilometers from Orta, the major city
on Lake Orta. This villa and the surrounding area will fascinate
anyone who loves nature, beauty, and a peaceful atmosphere.
You access Bella Orta by its beautiful and large garden (about two
hectares - five acres) where you will find all kinds of flowers and
trees.

On the ground floor there is a double bedroom with bathroom with tub, a
storage room where is the washing machine and an additional
fridge. There are also three additional storage rooms that remain
closed.
The charming staircase with pink painted walls leads you the first
floor surrounded on two sides by a balcony. On this level you
have a spacious elegant living room with fireplace and large French
windows. There is a small but well equipped kitchen, a breakfast
room with a table for six, a large bathroom with tub and beautiful
ancient mirror and a double bedroom with bathroom with tub.
On the other side of the balcony there is the large and beautiful patio
with a dining table for ten, sofas and armchairs.
On the second floor, there is a spacious master bedroom with fireplace
and cozy windows looking out onto the garden. It has a large
bathroom with both a tub and separate shower, as well as a beautiful
antique crystal mirror. There is also a room in a passageway with
bed of 120 cm, baby bed with crib, and large mansard bedroom with two
twin beds recommended for children (cannot be fitted as a double bed).
Outside there is a large garden with a pleasant pathway. Another
path (150m), leads to the private dock and bathing area. Please
note that to reach the lake access you have to cross the Lake Orta
coastal road, and children should be accompanied across the road.
Just in from the crossing you have a small ferry launch and the gate to
the dock. There are some steps that could be challenging for
people with walking difficulties.
The father of the owner was keen on botany as well as an art collector
and the villa and its garden attest to his love for beauty. The
walls are decorated with paintings and antique prints, and everywhere
your eyes are caught by the beautiful ceramics and very interesting
books in the bookcase. In the garden the paths have no steps.
The villa can sleep up to nine people in three double bedrooms, one
twin bedded room, one single and four bathrooms. A crib is also
available. Bella Orta is not available in the low season.
Amenities include a dishwasher, washing machine, television, two
fridges, independent heating, private dock and private lake
access. Maid service two hours each Tuesday, Thursday and
Saturday is included. For stays of more than one week, a change
of linens and towels on Saturday is included. Telephone is
provided for local calls only, and dialup Internet access is
possible. Satellite TV and DVD are available. Grocery
shopping and extra maid service are available.
Bella Orta sits on a hill above the lake, with mature trees and
vegetation. Because of this, a lake view is possible only from
one of the top floor bedrooms and parts of the grounds.

About Lake Orta
Thanks to the quiet beauty of the landscape, its fascinating history
and its wealth of artistic treasures, Romanesque and Baroque
architecture, Lake Orta has long been the destination of poets, artists
and writers.
Lake Orta lies to the west of Lake Maggiore, in northern Italy.
Far from the chaos and the unpleasant "stress of life", this restful
area with its blue water and clean air offers the opportunity to
rediscover nature.
Mimosas, palms and olive trees grow around the lake as well as azaleas,
camellias and rhododendron. At higher levels are chestnut
forests, oaks and birch trees.
There are many footpaths that lead from the towns and villages through
the forests up the hills and mountains.
The Mottarone (height 1385 m.) which divides Lake Maggiore from Lake
Orta is equipped with lifts for winter sports. On clear days it
offers a charming view of seven lakes, Monte Rosa and the chain of the
Alps.
BIKE TRAILS: We suggest that you take the funicular railway from
Stresa (tel. ++39-0323-30399) at Lake Maggiore, on which you can take
your mountain bike up to the summit (18 minutes journey) and descend
from the summit towards the slopes of Lake Orta.
WATER SPORTS: Lovers of water sports will find places to swim in
Lake Orta as well as scuba diving, kayaking, sailing and water
skiing. It is possible to rent kayaks, small motor boats and to
windsurf.
FISHING: You may fish at the Laghetto di Bonte Bria and on the
West Bank of the Laghetti di Nonio. There are many fishing clubs
in the area.
HORSEBACK RIDING: There are a number of riding stables at Lake
Orta in Miasino, Egro and Invorio, some of which offer riding courses
at various levels.
GOLF: There are numerous golf courses in the area such as Golf
Club Des Iles Borromées a Brovello Carpugnino - Motta Rossa, n.
