Villa Camilla, located just five kilometers from Menaggio, is a
distinguished mid 19th century villa with a noble
heritage. This glamorous villa offers spacious private
gardens, a swimming pool, a private tennis court, a private dock and
particularly superb views of the three branches of Lake Como with
striking mountain vistas beyond. Lake Como is renowned for its
luxurious vegetation and its mild climate.
A perfect setting for groups of friends and family, the estate park
contains century-old trees and presents an ambiance of ancient
grandeur. Recently restored, the villa boasts a beautiful
and elegant interior with great care given to the noble heritage and
character of the building. This is particularly evident in
the mosaic floors, remarkable wooden railings connecting the
floors, the impressive statues and the 19th century adornments.

Villa Camilla may be rented in combination with the
nearby cottage, La
Dolce, to accommodate groups as large as 28 guests.
This villa offers our special “arrive and relax” package:
A simple typical buffet dinner is provided on your arrival
night. This way you can reach your destination, drop your bags,
settle in and relax. You will find the dinner in the kitchen with
the instructions for heating. The dinner is also suitable for
vegetarian guests. It typically consists of a pasta al
forno, a vegetable tarte, salad, and fruit. Bread, water and wine
are included. No changes are possible for the first dinner.
The villa also will be stocked with food to get you through the
weekend. This way you will not be forced to search for food after
your long flight and no worrying about Sunday store closures. The
basic shopping list consists of: milk, coffee, tea, bread, biscuits,
sugar, salt, water, fruit, eggs, oil, butter, jam, orange juice,
cereals. The quantity of the items will be adjusted by the staff
according to the number of guests.
Modern amenities include central heat, air conditioning in the
bedrooms, swimming pool (10m x 6m), computer with DSL internet access,
Wifi, private tennis court, billiards, satellite TV, music,
fully equipped professional kitchen and washer and dryer in adjoining
laundry room. There is private dock with with direct lake access,
available for an extra fee.
The pool can be heated on request (it is a pool and not a hot
tub). From May to September the heating is included. In
other periods, it can be heated on request for 5 euros per hour.
Villa Camilla sleeps up to 16
people in 8 double bedrooms and beds can be separated into twin
beds. Every bedroom has a full en suite bathroom, and there are
two half bathrooms on the ground floor (toilet and sink).
A total of 20 guests may be accommodated. The main villa sleeps
up to 16. Two additional beds may be requested for the main
villa, and two more guests may stay in the nearby annex.
Arrangements for over 16 guests must be specifically requested in
advance, and are included in the rental price.
The villa is 500 square meters and develops on four floors:
Ground floor: Large foyer. Living room with open
fireplace and doors leading onto the lawn with views of the lake.
Formal dining room. Professional kitchen. Two half
bathrooms. Laundry room. Recreation room.
First floor (3 double bedrooms - beds can separate into twin
beds-, 3 baths): Yellow
double bedroom with lake view and en suite bathroom with large Jacuzzi
tub and shower. Pink double bedroom with lake view and en suite
bathroom with Jacuzzi tub and shower. Ivory double bedroom with
windows towards the garden and en suite bathroom with tub. Small
glass-closed sitting room with table and chairs with lake and garden
view.
Second floor (2 double bedrooms- beds can separate into twin
beds -, 2 baths): Large game
room with beautiful lake view. Pink double bedroom (lake view)
with extra large shower and Jacuzzi tub. Ivory double bedroom
with
tub and shower (garden
view).
Third floor (3 double
bedrooms- beds can separate into twin beds -, 3 baths): Light blue
double bedroom (lake view) en suite bathroom with shower. Orange
double bedroom (lake view) en suite bathroom with shower. Green
double bedroom (garden view) en suite bathroom with tub and
shower. Two extra beds can be added on this floor. .
Annex (1 double bedroom and bath) in a separate
structure close to villa is included in the price, and sleeps 2
additional guests. This request must be made in advance!
Extra beds - Beds for two additional guests can be
added in the main villa, and this is also included in the price.
This must also be requested in advance!
Air conditioning and heat are included.
The 3000 Euro security deposit may be paid in cash or by credit
card.
The pool will be open in 2022 from May to October. Pool towels
are included.
Note about swimming pool heating
during colder months*:
Swimming pool heating mid-September to mid-May:
€5 per hour (in order to reach the minimum water temperature of 25°C,
it is necessary to turn on the heater 24 hours before the guests’
arrival in mild weather. If the weather is colder, the minimum
necessary heating time is 48-72 hours. Once the minimum temperature is
reached, a minimum 4 hours per day of heating is required to maintain
the temperature.

- Guest Relations available throughout the stay at the villa. Highly
personalized one-of-a-kind experiences for the guests organized by our
in-house concierge
- Welcome drink and fresh flowers
- Buffet “Welcome Dinner" provided on arrival (up to 20 people only)
- Cook service for dinner (food and beverages not included). The cook
will also buy all the necessary food which is to be paid for directly
in cash at the end of the stay. An amount of € 1.500 is to be paid upon
arrival as a deposit and replenished during the week as needed. The
chef will be available to the guests throughout their stay at the
Villa. Please note that when the 1500 Euro deposit is depleted,
the client must
provide the cook with extra money to buy the food. The cook will
not put any money in advance for the guests.

Before leaving Como, we recommend taking the
funivia up to Brunate for a truly spectacular view. From Como, going
north along the left shore it's just a short drive to Cernobbio, an old
town features a delightful collection of picturesque houses and narrow
alleys. This is the site of the fictional Villa Balbianello, the
elegant family pensione featured in the film "A Month by the Lake."
Nearby is one of the grandest hotels in all Europe, the Villa D'Este,
whose rooms resemble museum galleries and whose grounds boast Italy's
only "floating swimming pool". Up the road is Toriggia, where you can
visit Villa Passalacqua, a late 18th-century home where Vincenzo
Bellini once stayed. As you travel north you'll see Como's only island,
Isola Comacina (come to see St. John's Day the weekend after June 24th,
which is celebrated with a mass in the ruins of the S. Eufemia basilica
followed by a costumed procession and night-time fireworks).
Lake Como is renowned for its exquisite
villas, the most famous of which is Villa Carlotta, a perfect
combination of luxurious interiors (beautiful stuccos, lovely ceiling
frescoes and a great art collection, including an Eros and Psyche by
Antonio Canova) and luxuriant exteriors (over 500 species of plants,
trees and shrubs from all over the world).
Tremezzo is another lovely lakeside town.
Tremezzo has a classic lakeside promenade, as well as many wonderful
old villas (some of which have been converted to hotels), and it's from
here you can take a car ferry over to Bellaggio and Varenna, on the
opposite shore.
On the southern shore is Bellaggio, la perla
del lago (the pearl of the lake), considered by many to be the most
beautiful town in all of Europe. Its narrow cobbled streets,
breathtaking views, impeccable homes and glorious villas make it a most
enchanting spot to spend your own unforgettable "Month by the Lake.”
