Villa Rozzano, located just five kilometers from Menaggio, is a distinguished mid 19th century villa with
a noble heritage. Once occupied by the Marquis of Rozzano and
still owned by his descendants, this glamorous villa offers
spacious private gardens, a swimming pool, a private tennis court, a private
dock
and particularly superb views of the three branches of Lake Como
with striking mountain vistas beyond. Lake Como is renowned for its
luxurious vegetation and its mild climate.
A perfect setting for groups of friends and family, the estate park contains century-old trees
and presents an ambiance of ancient
grandeur. Recently restored, the villa boasts a beautiful and
elegant interior with great care given to the noble heritage and
character of the building. This is particularly evident in the
mosaic floors, remarkable wooden railings connecting the
floors, the impressive statues and the 19th century
adornments.
Villa Rozzano may be rented in combination with the nearby cottage,
Villa la Cava, to accommodate groups as large as 28 guests.
This villa offers our special “arrive and relax” package:
A simple typical dinner is provided on your arrival night. This way
you can reach your destination, drop your bags, settle in and relax. You will
find the dinner in the kitchen with the instructions for heating. The
dinner is also suitable for vegetarian guests. It basically consists of a pasta
al forno, a vegetable tarte, salad, and fruit. Bread, water and wine are
included. No changes are possible for the first dinner.
The villa also will be stocked with food to get you through the weekend. This
way you will not be forced to search for food after your long flight and no
worrying about Sunday store closures. The basic shopping list consists of:
milk, coffee, tea, bread, biscuits, sugar, salt, water, fruit, eggs, oil,
butter, jam, orange juice, cereals. The quantity of the items will be adjusted
by the staff according to the number of guests.

Modern amenities include central heat, air conditioning in the bedrooms,
swimming pool (10m x 6m), computer with DSL internet access, Wifi, telephone,
private tennis court, billiards, satellite TV, music, fully equipped
professional kitchen and washer and dryer in adjoining laundry room. There
is private dock with with direct lake access, available for an extra fee.
Villa Rozzano sleeps up to 16 people
in 8 double bedrooms and beds can be separated into
twin beds. Every bedroom has a full en suite bathroom, and
there are two half bathrooms on the ground floor (toilet and
sink).
The villa is 500 square meters and develops on four floors:
Ground floor: Large foyer. Living room with open
fireplace and doors leading onto the lawn with views of the
lake. Formal dining room. Professional kitchen.
Two half bathrooms. Laundry room. Recreation room.
First floor (3 double bedrooms - beds can separate into twin beds-, 3 baths):
Yellow double bedroom with lake view and en suite bathroom with
large Jacuzzi tub and shower. Pink double bedroom with
lake view and en suite bathroom with Jacuzzi tub and shower.
Green double bedroom with windows towards the garden and en
suite bathroom with tub. Small glass-closed sitting room
with table and chairs with lake and garden view.
Second floor (2 double bedrooms- beds can separate into twin beds -, 2 baths):
Large game room with beautiful lake view. Pink double
bedroom (lake view) with extra large shower and Jacuzzi tub.
Blue double bedroom with tub and shower.
Third floor (3 double bedrooms- beds can separate into twin beds -, 3
baths):
Light blue double bedroom (lake view) en suite bathroom with
shower. Orange double bedroom (lake view) en suite
bathroom with shower. Green double bedroom (garden view)
en suite bathroom with tub and shower. Two extra beds can
be added on this floor (not included in the price).
A simply furnished annex for 2 people is located a few meters from the villa. It can be rented for an additional fee.
A total of 18+2 people can be accommodated when renting the main villa, the annex and requesting two extra beds in the villa which can be arrange on the top floor.
Included in the rental fee are three hours of maid
service six days a week (excluding Sunday), bed and bath linens
changed on Tuesday and Saturday, pool towels and final
cleaning. Telephone is metered and paid upon consumption.
Air conditioning and heat are included in 2010.
A continental breakfast is included daily Monday through
Saturday, with the possibility of Sunday breakfast for an
additional 11 euros per person with no service. A cook's service is also
included in the rental fee. The cost of food is not
included and a food deposit of 500 Euros is required in cash at
arrival (and replenished as needed during your stay).
Lunch consists of a buffet style meal provided Monday through
Friday from a local restaurant. A full service menu dinner
is also provided daily Monday through Friday. For bookings
longer than one week, lunch and dinner are also provided on
Saturday. Of course, Saturday arrival dinner is included
in our Arrive and Relax package!
The pool will be open in 2010 from May 1 to September 25.

Before leaving Como, we recommend taking the funivia up to Brunate
for a truly spectacular view. From Como, going north along the left shore it's just a short drive
to Cernobbio, an old town features a delightful collection of picturesque houses
and narrow alleys. This is the site of the fictional Villa Balbianello, the
elegant family pensione featured in the film "A Month by the Lake." Nearby is
one of the grandest hotels in all Europe, the Villa D'Este, whose rooms resemble
museum galleries and whose grounds boast Italy's only "floating swimming pool".
Up the road is Toriggia, where you can visit Villa Passalacqua, a late
18th-century home where Vincenzo Bellini once stayed. As you travel north you'll
see Como's only island, Isola Comacina (come to see St. John's Day the weekend
after June 24th, which is celebrated with a mass in the ruins of the
S. Eufemia basilica followed by a costumed procession and night-time fireworks).
Lake Como is renowned for its exquisite villas, the most famous of
which is Villa Carlotta, a perfect combination of luxurious interiors (beautiful
stuccos, lovely ceiling frescoes and a great art collection, including an Eros
and Psyche by Antonio Canova) and luxuriant exteriors (over 500 species of
plants, trees and shrubs from all over the world).
Tremezzo is another lovely lakeside town. Tremezzo has a classic
lakeside promenade, as well as many wonderful old villas (some of which have
been converted to hotels), and it's from here you can take a car ferry over to
Bellaggio and Varenna, on the opposite shore.
On the southern shore is Bellaggio, la perla del lago (the pearl of
the lake), considered by many to be the most beautiful town in all of Europe.
Its narrow cobbled streets, breathtaking views, impeccable homes and glorious
villas make it a most enchanting spot to spend your own unforgettable "Month by
the Lake.”
