Perla di Siena is set in one of the most desirable locations in the
heart of Tuscany. Located about half-way between Siena and Arezzo, it is well
positioned for seeing all the best of Tuscany. From this charming villa it is
possible to easily reach Florence (55 km North) and the Chianti area spending
the day tasting delicious wine in some of the best known wine estates, or going
southward to enjoy the unique landscapes of Le Crete Senesi or the Val d’Orcia -
Pienza, Montalcino and Montepulciano.
This villa offers our special “arrive and relax” package:
A simple Tuscan dinner is provided on your arrival night. This is a
welcome sight after a long flight and will allow you to check in, unpack and
relax. You will find the dinner in the kitchen with the instructions for
heating. The dinner is also suitable for vegetarian guests. It basically
consists of a pasta al forno, a vegetable tarte, salad, and fruit. Bread,
water and wine are included. No changes are possible for the first dinner.
The villa also will be stocked with basic groceries so that you do not have to
shop upon arrival or worry about store closures on Sunday. The shopping list
consists of: milk, coffee, tea, bread, biscuits, sugar, salt, water, fruit,
eggs, oil, butter, jam, orange juice, cereals. The quantity of the items will be
adjusted by the staff according to the number of guests.

Perla
di Siena is on the "Strada del vino Terre di Arezzo". (The route of
wine).
A wonderfully renovated farmhouse with every possible modern convenience, Perla
di Siena is part of a large estate surrounded by olive groves, vineyards and oak
woods. Even though the owner’s house is on the same estate, the house is
totally private and very quiet. In fact the villa of the owner is 1.5 km away.
An unpaved private road connects the villa to the main road.
Perla di Siena has a well-kept and fenced garden, full of flowers, olives tree
and equipped with different relaxing areas, a large patio with a real pizza oven
and BBQ, a perfect place for al fresco dinner during the summer time.
A few steps lead to the pool area. There is an infinity swimming pool
(16x5 meters) open in 2010 from May 8 to the 25th of September. The pool ground is
equipped with long chairs, pillows and a very comfortable futon under the
shadow. Just next to the pool area there a Sauna with and extra bathroom with
shower. Pool towels are included.
Private parking is provided.
Perla di Siena consists of a main house and a large outbuilding.
MAIN HOUSE
The main house is
200 sq meters, developed on two levels, refined with cotto floor and
beamed ceiling. Personally furnished by the owner, it is a perfect place to
enjoy an the authentic experience in the Tuscan countryside.
The ground floor consists of a large charming living room with fireplace and TV
area (SAT TV). Each room on this floor has direct access to the garden.
The dining room
has a long wooden table in front of a large window with beautiful views of the
garden.
Next to the
dining room there is a fully equipped kitchen with a fireplace,
fridge, freezer, washing machine, microwave, toaster, oven, gas range (5
burners), double sink and American coffee machine.
A guest half
bathroom is provided in the main house.
A stone staircase (13 steps)
leads to the first floor. On this floor there are 3 cozy bedrooms with en suite
bathrooms. One double bedroom with en suite bathroom with bathtub (hand held
shower). A second double bedroom with en suite bathroom with shower. A third
double bedroom with en suite bathroom with bathtub, separate shower and double
marble sink. This bedroom also has a safe and a large walk-in closet. All the
bedrooms are very nicely furnished with antique wooden furniture, cotto floors
and beamed ceiling. The beds are not convertible to twin beds. Baby bed
available.
THE OUTBUILDING
Next to the main
house there is a large outbuilding of 180 Sq meters which consists of a bright
and spacious living room with fireplace, large windows and a comfortable red
sofa, TV, stereo and long chair. Kitchen corner with refrigerator and electric
range. The outbuilding also features a double bedroom with a large en suite
pink marble bathroom with shower.
Facilities
Air conditioning is provided in all the
bedrooms and is charged
according to usage in 2009 (included in 2010). Three hours of
housekeeping on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday are included as are pool towels. There is a hair dryer in
each bathroom. Also included in the rental fee is a change of linens on
Wednesday and Saturday. Laundry facilities include a washing machine, iron and ironing board. A cook and wine
tasting are available on request. An extra bed is not available. Independent
heating is not included in the rental fee and is metered.
Pets are not permitted at Perla di Siena.
Distances
The nearest small
village is Ambra at only 7km. In Ambra it is possible to find a few shops, post
office, pharmacy, restaurants and bars. Activities in the
area: horse riding, polo club, wine tasting.
